I decided to redo this painting as the background just seemed to dark. OK it may be a little more commercial but hey there is nothing wrong with that!!

I think the twins stand out a little better as they are not competing with the back ground, also it looks better on my wall !!!

Just like Mum!

This is Molly my youngest ( I also have two boys Reeve 15 and Cal 14) She joined me this evening while I was painting and asked me to draw her a quick sketch of one of my girls that she could paint! The lovely raven haired girl is Mollys, she painted and inked her all by herself! Such talent!! The last pic is my effort ...it is Molly and her dolly!!!

As you can probably tell I don't have the luxury of my own studio space but I have to take over the dining room table!!

a ballerina for mothers day

This is a ballerina for my mother in law ! I have never painted a ballerina before and was a little apprehensive, but after various attempts that included legs ,I gave up and painted one without!!!


This has been painted in a style that my mother in law would like but still hoping to keep elements of me!!I think she looks a little Victorian?

red nose day bits and pieces

I made these for my 9 year old daughter to sell on a stall at school for red nose day.

The top pic is of little wrist bands made out of scraps of fabric, the red bit is a fleece blanket from Ikea that I was going to make a camping poncho from! The bottom pic are little brooches again made from scraps and buttons! Lets hope she made lots of money for charity!!!

a little experiment ....I love etchings and like to make my illustrations have that etchingy style.

I have tried to limit my colours to give them a 40s/ 50s feel. I am selling them as aceo prints on Etsy!!

two of everything

new painting.... the images are a bit flat because I am completely rubbish with a camera!

This painting has lots of elements that I am always draw to: heart necklaces,rosey cheeks,heart birthmarks,swirls,trees,pretty dresses.........I am enjoying painting at the moment and am slowly developing some sort of style.I think I need to experiment with the backgrounds a little ..I can't paint everyone in an enchanted woodland!!! But I love painting rosey cheeks,heart necklaces and pretty dresses! These 'twins' are on Etsy.

I have just looked out of the window and at last it is snowing!!! I was beginning to feel like I was missing out!!(sad)For those of you not in the UK ,most of the country has had alot of snow this week and I live in a fairly rural part of Lancashire and we have had hardly any! My relatives in London have had more!!!My children are feeling very upset because they haven't had any time off school.....I may have to get the sledge out of the shed!

paper dolls

I have always wanted to make some paper dolls based on my illustration work....and here they are! I used to spend hours as a little girl making paper dolls and designing outfits for them ...I had aspirations to become a fashion designer! I loved designing their little dresses and accessories...

These were fun and I am tempted to make more!

an aceo at last!

At last I am back painting Aceos, I had forgotten how much fun they are!! I haven't been able to paint for about 2 years...serious creative block. But last september I decided to give up work to persue my true calling and finally after 3months I have finally put brush to paper and canvas!! I think that doing something different like the larger painting in the previous post helped and hopefully it will continue!
